ARexx

ARexx (Amiga REXX) by William Hawes is the integrated scripting language of AmigaOS (from version 2.0). ARexx enables automation and connection of applications via message ports. Almost every professional Amiga program offers an ARexx interface: ImageFX, ADPro, CygnusEd, Final Writer, Bars & Pipes, etc. ARexx scripts can remote-control programs, exchange data between applications, and automate complex workflows. It is comparable to AppleScript on Mac or COM/OLE on Windows — but 10 years earlier.
