OctaMED by Teijo Kinnunen (Finland) extended the tracker concept to 8 virtual channels through software mixing (instead of just 4 Paula hardware channels). OctaMED SoundStudio (from version 1.0, 1995) additionally offered MIDI support, synthesizer, mixing console, and professional audio editing. It was the most comprehensive music program on the Amiga and was also commercially distributed. OctaMED was particularly popular for game music.
