ABC Wide World of Sports Boxing
Guide / Tips:
Keyboard Commands:
F3 = Pause
Spacebar/F4 = Pause Off
F5 = Sound On/Off
F7 = Rope-Size Toggle (decreasing rope-size speeds up game)
ALT-J = Re-calibrate joysticks (center joystick first)
Esc = Exit Menu or Game
Boxing Tips:
- Keep moving and dance - the longer you stay still, the better your opponent can size you up.
- Stay down during the count to rest, but be careful - staying down too long with low stamina may take more than 1 count to get up.
- Don't telegraph your punches! Don't wind up - shoot your punches straight.
- Stick and move, bob and weave.
- The key to landing punches is learning to judge the distance for maximum extension.
- The jab/straight punch is faster - use jabs to set up your opponent for a slower, stronger punch.
- Throw power punches - they are more effective and may trigger Killer Mode.
- While cocked waiting to throw a power punch, your boxer is uncovered and extremely vulnerable.
- Keep your eye on your stamina - if it gets too low, rest by clinching and throwing fewer punches.
- Keep your head moving!
- Before starting a career, fight a few exhibition bouts to get the feel of the game.
Game Modes:
- Exhibition: Quick fights vs computer or another player. Great for practice.
- Career: Sports-role-playing mode. Create your own boxer and guide him from the bottom to the championship belt.
- Demo: Watch a demonstration match between two computer-controlled opponents.
