Blitter Object

A Blitter Object (BOB) is a software-rendered sprite that utilizes the Amiga's Blitter chip to rapidly move rectangular blocks of graphics data in memory. Unlike the system's eight hardware sprites, BOBs have no fixed quantity limits and can be any size, though they require the CPU or Blitter to save and restore the background image to avoid leaving trails when moved. They work by using DMA transfers to copy image data from source buffers to screen memory, making them essential for games requiring numerous simultaneous moving objects beyond the hardware sprite limit.
